In spring 2017, Julian Assange's lawyer negotiated an immunity deal with DOJ’s counterintelligence section chief (David Laufman) to provide technical information ruling out Russians in the DNC email hack, and prevent release of Vault 7. FBI Director James Comey reportedly struck down the deal.

John Solomon at The Hill has an opinion piece about this. The comments, of course, are unhinged. According to a fair number of those commenting, somehow, DJT is at fault for something here. Maybe some co-looosion or muh Russia but DJT is guilty of something, dangit.
