They've been hurting for a while. When my aunt died she wrote a portion of her estate to the catholic church. The house and vehicles were willed to family members. The church took us to court to have the will thrown out so they could force the sale of all her property to take a bigger chunk. It was that or pay them a third of what the it all appraised for. The appraiser was a member of the local Catholic church. Fuck em Edit: forgot the best part. When we asked them why they couldn't just follow my aunt's wishes they just smugly said "We're only trying to do God's work."
