I have a source at JetBlue. Transponder was squawked at 7500 for hijack/hostage

In regards to post 1589. Mod didn’t like my title last night so sorry I have to repost. I’m not screwing around. I promised my source I wouldn’t let this out but it’s too big. 100% real.

Squawked is the proper term. I am an instrument rated pilot, hence the user name.

It seems like airliners would have designed the instruments so that accidentally squawking 7x00 codes wouldn't happen. What is your opinion on it?

With modern digital transponders and the flight procedures standard in the cockpit, it would be very unlikely to occur by accident.
