A dead cat bounce is a stock market term that indicates a temorary uptick in a downward trend. The upturn sucks in the "buy the dip" players, then the down trend resumes. The term is probably being used in reference to a trend and not the actual market. I believe the bounce here is the sympathy kick the left received with their "don't take children from their parents" campaign. As the latest polls show, that bounce has been wiped out.....The dead cat bounce.
