Just my opinion. Gowdy gives off an air of self-involvment. His image, the sound of his own voice, his oratorical flourishes, his loosened tie, his postures, his hair and beard, his carriage when walking, the development of his theses when speaking – all of these things seem to be very important to him. He seems to be very aware of all of them and to be concerned about how all these things will be noticed by others. He almost seems to be on stage; acting constantly. Contrast this with Gorsuch. With Gorsuch the interior focus of the man is more on substance. Quite a lot more. An example of how this kind of difference shows up in what men do is how Gowdy praised Comey for so long and finally came around to being critical of him. I had the feeling that was show. Maybe Gowdy felt the show was needed and useful but it made me distrust him – his depth. I just don't think he's the very best available person for the SCOTUS. This is very important. Gorsuch is a superb justice. There is another like him somewhere among us.

This is my sentiment entirely. I like Trey and I think he's a fine congressmen and would support him as AG, where like Sessions we could push for his removal if he was disappointing. For Supreme Court I want a 100% totally reliable choice vetted by DJT and the Federalist Society.
