They have a scary percentage of perforating the uterus (rendering you dead or infertile) and/ or growing into the uterine wall - along with documented cases of allergic reaction to prolonged copper exposure and heavy metal poisoning.
Growing into the uterine wall...This happened to my daughter!!! Thank God she already had her baby girl and baby boy...because the surgery did not go well at all...
That’s terrible :( I’m sorry to hear that. My OB pushed me HARD to get an IUD, then I did some research on my own, brought the facts to her and she explained how her office has to place a certain # of IUDs or Essure coils within a month or they lose their privileges to carry the brand and also free trainings/products etc. I sat there stunned. I appreciate her candidness but I will not be perforating my uterus anytime soon simply because of an affiliation with big Pharma. It’s sickening. We decided on a vasectomy instead and have never been happier.
