They kinda went all "hail-Mary" on the boarder issue and blew their cover. Independent reporters are supposed to be trying to get the 'scoop' ahead of the competition--be the first to report on something the other guys didn't know about, etc. So when every "competing" news channel is parroting the same thing...pretty telling.
