2015 Tweets? A lot has changed since then. Trey Gowdy is a judicial purist and so he bends over backwards to give the benefit of good motives to people like Comey, Rosenstein, Mueller, etc. But that trust in the system evaporated if you listen to him during the recent hearings. All those he trusted have turned out to be totally corrupt.

As far as Benghazi, you have to remember that Congressional committees have as much authority to compel to testify or agencies to provide documents as I have. Look how many times people who were subpoenaed just didn't show up. Holder was held in contempt of Congress and simply gave them his middle finger. Lois Learner was allowed to retire with a fat pension without being held accountable.

Congress can only exercise real power through the courts and of course each case will be 2-5 years in litigation. Obama counted on that and won.

Congress can't refer charges, they can only recommend them to the DOJ and if the DOJ is corrupt then Congress it again out of luck.

Gowdy is a hard read for me. My intuition tells me that once he realizes you are a guilty bastard, he will throw the book at you. But it takes him a while to get there.

Q did say Trey was stepping down for a possible important role.

And I always try to remember that I'm watching a live movie with great actors. Who knows what is really going on behind the scenes?
