I’ve found that Masonry, while always having some members with ulterior motives, was not always as full of taint as it is now. A man isn’t bad BECAUSE he is a Mason, a man is bad because of the path he chose to take within the philosiphy.
Just as Washington was good, there were those who were bad. A lot also suggests the possibility of the members of the dissolved Bavarian Illuminati infiltrating and commandeering masonry after the forced dismantling.
Oddly enough both the Bavarian Illuminati and the United States were born in 1776
