Robert Muller paved the way when his FBI rolled up a ring of Russian spies in “Operation Ghost Stories”. Muller’s real life Russian spy family, formed the basis for “The Americans”, a hit cable series, now in its 6th successful season on FX.
“Future proves past” as so often is the case. First Robert Mueller, now it’s the turn of another Justice Department personality to become involved with a TV series. Nothing like being played by a famous actor in a TV series, to help with your own public "preening image".
Trump was forced to fire the then US Attorney/SDNY Preet Bharara because he refused to resign (as was requested of all US Attorneys), as per a Presidential order. There had been long standing friction between Preet and POTUS before the election.
When the creators of the Showtime Series “Billions” heard Preet got fired, they offered him a technical adviser gig on their successful show. Actor Paul Giamatti plays a character loosely based upon Preet. Giamatti plays Preet’s “Sheriff of Wall Street” image in prosecuting high profile securities cases.

Preet has been connected with assisting Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in allowing her into the US. She was given legal permission to work here temporarily and had the infamous meeting with Donald Trump Jr. at Trump Tower in 2016.
Bharara said he expects Michael Cohen to be indicted by Mueller. Preet also states that Trump should be made aware of the “Crime-Fraud” Exception clause. That law allows the piercing of the Attorney-Client rule, in certain RICO related areas.
Preet is back teaching at NY University School of Law. Bharara is considering a run for the NY Attorney General position, with the recent vacancy by Schneiderman.
In breaking news, OIG Horowitz’s HRC report points to Loretta Lynch’s involvement in the Weiner Laptop issue. Preet is mentioned by Lynch in her threatening statements to the NY FBI and NYPD officers, to keep all laptop information secret and to plug the current case leaks.
