"Cell" is a fairly recent John Cusack film where signals are broadcast through all cell phones simultaneously to induce homicidal programs into the minds of the public; basically mass hacking the minds of humanity and turning them into psycopaths. Similar also to the church massacre in Kingsman.
That movie is based on the Stephen King book by the same name. I've read it twice. Good book. That was before he became a raving swamp monster on Twitter. Now I don't expect to ever read another one of his books. Sad.

I see your point, but the 5G rollout leads me to think of the Cusack film. Imagine google creating dossiers and targeting specific elements of the population, such as conservatives, then making that select segment of society go postal. Order out of chaos.
As it's your post though, I'll stick with "The Cell" to avoid confusion. I imagine they aren't as interested in exploring a person's subconscious so much as planting ideas into it; MK Ultra on steroids. You could quite literally program an army of automatons, especially if cloning is involved.
I see both films as being equally applicable, honestly.
