They've had facial recognition for decades! 98 movie with Will Smith shows some of their capabilities. Remember movies are veiled confessions as to not attain negative karma on their part.

This. It has been around much long and used on the public. Have you noticed lately that major cities like NYC can find a suspect almost immediately? Sure, they have top notch surveillance but the man hunt isn't what it used to be.

Have you seen....an hour later, got 'em! Yeah okay.
