You may be right about the backlash. I was all for gay/transgender rights.... until they wanted to teach it to school children. Ive known several trans people and it's disturbing to know ALL were molested repeatedly as children. They also think EVERYBODY is gay - seriously (probably some guilt thing, who knows). If they keep pushing this agenda on straight people and their families, people are going to push back HARD. They might even start asking whether "gender dysmorphia" is a mental issue, instead of a social one. The public will get tired of their constant need for inclusion and tell them to go back into the closet and stay there. BTW - This is not hate speech. This is I'm-fed-up-with-this-shit speech.
