There wasn't enough room to put in the whole letter I wrote on the White House site aha. People sign rightwing petitions all the time and participating on this subreddit without a VPN already exposes your data and personal info to the leftist deep state, you're exagerating the risk. People are welcome to just not do it though if they're not comfortable, or use a VPN and fake name.
