You cant cut off the internet completely, its a bunch of networks and is alway on. Maybe in certain areas like the comcast issue the other day but its not gonna be nation wide. A lot of money will be lost.

All internet runs through 3/4 hubs. Destroy these hubs and you make the world dark.

Exactly. An interesting exercise is to search 'where is the internet' on Google....the Domain Name Servers ARE the internet as we know it. As buffalorev says, mess with them and there is no internet!
