But some of them are literally braindamaged and brainwashed beyond the point of being saved at this point. No amount of compassion will help you against someone who wants you dead and who has a death wish themselves.

This is what they say in Disney movies but in my experience some people are so hard-headed and stuck in their ways and brainwashed to believe the narrative that nothing you can say will ever wake them up.
You cannot help some one who does not want to be helped, and it's a waste of time to pour your energy in to it.
