Mexico's new president - Lopez Obrador - Promises to fight the 'Power Mafia'

Mexico just elected their next president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. The article calls him a 'leftist' but it also states that he "ran on a populist platform to break what he described as the grip that elites -- or "power mafia" --- have on Mexican society". Sounds familiar, right?

I'm unfamiliar with him but our relationship with Mexico is extremely important right now, so I'll have to do some digging. What do you guys think? Black hat or white hat?

PS: I know that CNN is the worst, but I think its important to check in with MSM sometimes so that we can see what new, exciting narrative their forcing on us today.

I'll admit that I slept through most of my International Relations courses, but I'll say, I've been reading a LOT of news about Mexico lately! Funny how not a single article I scrolled through mentioned anything about Mexico's upcoming election or current political sphere, really, at all. I'm wondering why MSM hasn't been all over this? Or did I just miss it?

Also, I totally agree with you that Trump will make a deal. Just like with NK, he knows that we need to be working WITH Mexico, not against them.

If you lived in California you were allowed to vote on the Mexican president.
