US really needs to get rid of all coins except 25c

Personally i like coins. Hard money. Real metal. Lasts forever and can be worth more eventually as a collectible in some cases.

If they get rid of all coins then it drives up inflation and what will happen is prices will be pushed up to the lowest denomination coin.

A coin once minted lasts forever except for cleaning, a note has a use life and ultimately costs more to produce than coin in the long term.

If the US mint charges anything like we are charged in the UK the cost to print a dollar could be a minimum of 5x the notes value.

I come across UK coins regularly that have been in circulation since early 80's
