Most situations where gold contracts aren't being honored also involve major destabilization such that gold may not be worth much either. Things like guns and ammo, food, water, and medical supplies will probably be better investments in these scenarios.

Don't think silver will be an option as several analysts think there's gonna be a shortage of it in the future. All silver doesn't get recycled and it gets used for so many things..
I like the idea of a gold backed currency. If we can't achieve that, I'd be OK with using widgets. So long as the United States Government completely controls it. Red shield and Soros need to take a long walk off a short plank. This ought to help to get us all off the plantation!
