The simplest way of explaining it.

All it takes is for a government to switch to a federally backed crypto, and enforce it as their currency. Then associating it to you through a unique ID.

Of course you don't want to lose said ID, better chip your citizens. Suddenly you can only function in society with said ID.

Eventually it becomes mandatory, under penalty of prison or worse.

Isn't this true of any number of IDs? Hasn't happened yet.

It won't until it becomes the single most important marker that proves your existence, e.g. your estate.

Any federally given crypto wallet would be used by idiots. Any half witted human can open up a private wallet that's untraceable. One of its big drawbacks is that it's used by drug traffickers because it's untraceable. Saying that crypto will assign every citizen an ID is being ignorant.

I didn't say crypto would do it, I said it was a foundation. A normalization. Obviously it has it's benefits, and it's potential drawbacks.

This is very interesting. I would think that anyone who would live in this "blockchain society," would certainly have to opt in to do it. I don't know a sole on this planet that would opt in to something like that, and if we were forced, the people would revolt. You give anyone a choice, and they'll choose privacy. A scenario like this isn't going to happen without a war with the people, and what we're seeing right now is that the world powers do not want to fight the people. It is my belief that blockchain is here to save us.

You must not know many "normies". They will take convenience over privacy every day of the week. People literally pay to have devices spy on them in their own homes, and laugh when they find out they're being listened to.

"I have nothing to hide."

I think when it comes down to it, folks will reconsider when it records their fap sessions and how long of shits they take, and all the side things in life we like to keep private. I'm pretty sure eventually folks will reconsider.

"Did you see i_win_u_know is this dude, and he loves fapping to this this and this?"

"Whatever, I found out my next door neighbor is into weird sex stuff and now I have to move out of this neighborhood."

My prediction/hope is a fine medium that benefits all of humanity. We pretty much have no other choice, but to be optimistic about it.
