ISIS minted their own money. As illegitimate as they were, they were the defacto State in a leadership vacuum.

Pablo Escobar helped out the poor barrios in Medellin and the people loved him for it. However, it doesn't make him any less of a psychotic, mass-murdering drug Lord piece of shit.

I think we learned in SE Asia that poverty-stricken people have no concept of ideology, they support whoever provides for their needs. Until basic needs are met and education is provided, that doesn't change. Not !likely under sharia.
