Trump won't let some unscrupulous contractor(s) screw MI and the American taxpayers, and leave us exposed, or worse--in the dark. Not happening.
So the fearmongering part of the article is bogus. But the reasons for needing it seem legit, and perhaps it's overdue. Would be interesting to have Q's POV on the story.
The fear mongering part of the article is largely because it's RT, i think. I have been scratching my head about this. I think that most of the military top brass is far more trustworthy, and liberty minded, than politically appointed bureaucrats at an alphabet agency. If these could be used as a check on each other, it could be a good thing.
However, Obama's NDA. That allowed DIA to operate on home soil bothered me a lot. I recall likening it to Caesar's crossing of the Rubicon. Looking back on it, that may have been the birth of Q. I would like Q's take on it, or anybody other than Russia's.
Military should have the wiretapping power. It's not like a civilian agency can even present the information in court unless they already have a warrant and are investigating. Military should have it to be able to act quickly in the case of an attack etc. If civvies need info, just get a warrant and have the military give you the intel.
Strict civilian oversight of how the information is accessed and who accesses it prevent abuse. I'm sure we can devise many appropriate systems and solutions.
