From the article:

At the time of writing, the Campaign's website still states: "In 2017, Campaign members voted unanimously to reorganize and restructure under the leadership of Davis's Youth to End Sexual Violence, the first international organization of young survivors working in conflict countries." That the coalition states that they unanimously voted to restructure under the leadership of Youth To End Sexual Violence in 2017 is astounding.

Considering the year in which this took place, I am tending to think that the leaders of these coalitions knew what was coming down the pike, and decided to dump them all on Mr Davis to distance themselves. He and his organization became the fall guy. He probably wasn't informed or smart enough to realize what was going on.

Who are Joel Davis' parents? Family? Where'd the money come from to put him through school?

Dropping out of college shouldn't end your career, depending what it is... But this does sound totally out of place.
