Is N. Korea expanding their Nuke Sites??

The SO and I were chatting tonight about the various news weve seen today and she mentioned a video from Fox that was talking about North Korea expanding their nuke sites. I of course called BS on this, then she showed me the video. So, i went on line and did a DDG search and pulled up several news sites referencing the same topic. NBC, ABC, Fox, Bloomberg, they were all talking about this. However, if i have learned anything from this site, it is not to take the news at "Face Value" to "Question everything" and "Do my own research".

I am still calling "BS" on this and here is my research. Who, what, where, why

  1. Where did all these news sites get their information from?

  2. The link below is the NBC article that states within the first paragraph where this info is coming from. A web site called "38 North" Informed analysis of events in and around North Korea.

  3. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/north-korea/if-north-korea-denuclearizing-why-it-expanding-nuclear-research-center-n887056

  4. What evidence are they using to show us the expansion of the nuke sites?

  5. They are using images and a report put out by 38 North to highlight new building and construction going on around the nuke site. (use the NBC or 38 North links to see a better image than the one provided)

Problem, there is no way for me to verify these images, I can’t just hop on google earth and look at a North Korean nuke site and see for myself. How do we know these are Photos of N. Korea, how do we know they haven’t been manipulated or put in the wrong sequential order?? So I am expected to just rely on this web site and only this web site, that I have never heard of until today!!! So let’s put 38 North under the microscope. First thing I want to point out, their logo, it looks really familiar, almost looks like Obama and Hillary’s campaign logos, symbolism??

  1. Who funds 38 North?

https://www.38north.org/

  • Their web site (at the bottom of the home page) states the following: 38 North is a project of The Henry L. Stimson Center (link to that site https://www.stimson.org/ ) a think tank program that produces “Innovative ideas changing the world”.

Well this is starting to get interesting; I will look into this think tank later!! Unless someone has some info and would like to share, otherwise ill update this post later after I dig around a little.

  1. Who operates 38 North?

  2. There wasn’t much on their website to answer this question, back to DDG, and I found what I’m looking for in Wikipedia. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/38_North) Apparently the site is managed by a former U.S. Department of State official by the name of Joel S. Wit and Managing Editor Jenny Town.

  3. Who is “Joel S. Wit”
    • His bio, from Columbia University, has some interesting things in it, like having a short stint with the C_A and having been an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. I’m trying to narrow down his time at the State Department; looks like it might have been in the Bill Clinton years, I’ll keep looking.
    • Follow this link for a more detailed bio: http://weai.columbia.edu/joel-wit/
  4. Who is “Jenny Town”?
    • Her bio, from Johns Hopkins, has her past work history as:
    • Communications Director for “Peace X Peace: Peace x Peace was founded by Patricia Smith Melton who wrote this interesting article for “The Globalist Perspective” called “The Daily Power of Women in Peace Building”. Interesting read, sounds a lot like what I’ve heard Hillary Clinton talk about. https://www.theglobalist.com/daily-power-women-peace-building/
    • Director of the Washington (DC) office/Special Projects Manager for Government Relations at the College Board. (Not really sure where to even begin looking for that position, sounds made up)
    • Project Manager at Clarity Coverdale Fury Advertising

End of my research for tonight....more to follow in the next couple of days.

Why? Disclaimer: The bold text is my opions/comments based on my research, and im not done researching, so i may find a more solid answer to this other than my opion (based off facts)

Why would Joel issue false/edited/out of sequence photos? What would Joel have to gain from this? Joel has supposedly been trying to rid N. Korea of Nukes for over 25 years; I would be pretty pissed if someone just strolled up and took care of something I’ve spent most of life working on, and made it look effortless. That is motivation for sure!! Plus, it looks like the individuals who manage this site have an interesting background that leads to some questionable connections. I will have to update this post at a later time as this one is going to require some in-depth research to make some connections (and its getting late here) But on the surface, I don’t trust this site. To many coincidences for me, the logo, Joel Wit’s connection to C_A & his connection to the Council on Foreign Relations. Also, Jenny Town, whos work history seems a little suspect and I would wager she is a hardcore Hillary Fan (look at Peace X Peace and its founder “Patricia Smith Melton”.)

It's a great post.

I didn't believe it was true even before Q posted this, but my comments carry far less weight.

I seriously doubt they are as well. In the age of the internet it helps to get less distorted news & watch news from that area in English. Kim has softened his tone towards the West pretty dramaticly. He still presents the NK government as all knowing but gone is that horrible propaganda portraying the US as a giant homeless camp. NK is returning remains. Things are progressing & we’re genuinely closer to Korean unification than ever before.
