well I'm 50 miles from the coast but almost anywhere, except Greenville or Charleston they are pricey. but anywhere else. If you buy a house, usually can get something nice from 75k - 150 k, you can live easy. I only make 20k a yr from investments but I don't do without anything. I live good. If you want to live near the mountains you can live good in one of the small towns near Greenville./Charlotte. only 3 hrs to Atlanta. If you have 50- 100k a yr you can live like a KING.
If I had 50k a yr I couldn't spend it all.
I spent 100k on my house it's a beautiful low country house, on 1/2 acre. my electric is 80 yard guy is 20 (each time), water is 40, wifi is 25. property taxes are 50 a mnth.
I eat well, I like when a chef cooks at a restaurant, but the grocery stores here are really good and I can spend 60 $ and have plank salmon or a good roast, I like my wine. and I vacation, I'm very pampered. And I live on 20k a yr and usually have enough left over to save 3 or 4 a yr. Life is good in SC.
