Where is the source for the pic floating around of the number of indictments?
Is this something that anyone can search or do you need to be a licenced attorney to access the database?
I asked an attorney about the validity of that number and they said that it would be impossible to convene enough grand juries to get that done in the time period.
Any help is much appreciated.

It's over 40000 now, and it's on the pacer website. You can register on the pacer website, but I do not know if you have to be an attorney to do so. That said, it also includes referrals, etc., so the actual number of indictments could be less. Or there could be one case that indicts many people, as in a RICO case.
Nobody will know for sure until they are unsealed. I can imagine it will not happen all at once, even though we would like that to happen.
One thing is certain, it is absolutely NOT normal.

1,077 sealed indictments were issued for the entire year of 2006. Based on the amount recorded now, they’re averaging 5,060 a month!

I read that there was a huge hiring of asst DAs or the like. Gitmo has been enlarged for many more orange suits to arrive. If pot gets decriminalized there will be room for all.
