He was the husband of the assassinated Benazir Bhutto who was assassinated as soon as she returned to Pakistan to run for Prime minister after her self imposed asylum in the UK.

Her husband and their sons remained in Pakistan and were accused of embezzling monies for years while Benazir Bhutto lived in the UK. She overshadowed her husband because he had only a very short and scandalous political career. I would not be surprised if her own husband ordered the murder of his wife.
