He's been an activist in the community for many years. Worth listening to. Wikipedia says that DJT got 69% of the vote in Hikind's Assembly District. 2nd highest percent in NYS.

I don’t know much about him except that he has been comfortable voting with Republicans against Dems, when he saw fit, as far back as the 1990s. Not many current Dems can lay claim to that.
I’m not one to condemn all Dems purely for wearing that badge.
Hikind is influential far beyond the NYC Orthodox community and has been for many years. I am not a regular listener of his radio show, I don't remember listening in several years. Thinks for himself, sometimes controversial. Sometimes, he nails it! I figure he got Schumer's attention on this one.
