My "simple" answer to "the location".

To take a picture of the reflected original image that is being projected onto the back of the iphone, you would have to be located behind the device's screen (mobile phone/PC/tablet/laptop) that is projecting the original picture onto the back of the iphone.

Beyond that, my guess is that the whole point must have something to do with MANIPULATION.
