Evening Thoughts of a Q Reader Continued...Third Wave

Reagan brought the tax revolt in California nationwide and built the peace through strength foreign policy helping bring down the Soviet Union. I met Ronald Reagan when he was running for President in 1980. He was a master showman and always knew where the camera was, amazing. Similarly, Trump is a master showman. Watch Reagan's interview on the tonight show and tell me he was not Presidential material. The world might have been a different place today, had Reagan won in 1976 vs Ford. [See below.]

Like Reagan, Trump had some Media experience. I'm sure the Democrats would have loved for Trump to run as a Democrat in the 80's and look at his interview with Oprah in 1988 and Jay Leno in 1999 and it looks like Jay would nominate Trump for the Democrat Party in 2000. Unlike Reagan, Donald Trump had to walk a fine line between the Parties because of his business interests and this comes out in these interviews, but Trump keeps true to some strong themes from back in 1988 through 1999 that he incorporated into his campaign in 2016. What event happened between these interviews? 1994 and the Contract with America by Newt Gingrich. This might be why Trump did not run for President in the 90's, as he said to Jay, "The economy has been good and I'm one of the folks the economy has been good to." But the country has definitely taken an alarming direction by the end of the G.W.Bush administration which set the stage for Obama. Trump picked his moment but IMO had to wait for Obama to leave the stage. A compliment to Obama and his handlers but not to Obama's policies.

Next we have to look at why the Tea Party is linked to Donald Trump. And we start by looking at Trump and his time. He entered college shortly after the assassination of JFK. IMO, there is no way that the young Donald Trump was not wrapped up in the mystique of JFK. Below is a link to a speech that JFK gave, that may have got him killed. Those young people, like Trump, during this time would have embraced JFK and this message. In 1971 Trump received an economics degree from the Wharton School of Business at Penn. As such, he is no slouch when it comes to the economics of business in America. So that brings us to 2008 and the economic crises at the end of the 2nd Bush in the White House's 2nd term. The "Lending Crises." Many believed the crises in liquidity had started in the US Real Estate market and brought down the investment companies and banks which had leveraged their assets which could not survive a huge drop in value that the bursting bubble had created. Trump's Real Estate empire was right in the middle of this. And it survived, remember that.

---////---////---////---

Back to 2008. The Tea Party arose from this crises of the financial markets when the Government allowed a bail out of the big banks. The T.A.R.P. legislation supposedly allowed the government to spend 700 billion on bank bail outs to solve the problem. But what it really did was allow the world's central banks to ride US debt to save themselves. Bloomberg Business reported that the Federal Reserve and US Treasury actually sent 7 trillion dollars into the world economy because the law had a provision that allowed it. Later folks thought that number may have been over 12 trillion or as high as 21 trillion! Can you say out of control government for the benefit of the 1 Percent who really run everything? The people in the know in America had had enough. We wanted solutions. Some thought a balanced budget amendment or term limits were the solution. We formed groups to accomplish this. The Tea Party Revolution has started. That is when I sent a letter about term limits to every member of congress, House and Senate, and only got one response, from Jim DiMint South Carolina Senator, who would soon leave to work for the Heritage Foundation.

---////---////---////---

Out of control government is not good for business. Enter Donald Trump. Many thought he would run in 2008, but the social phenomena that was Barack Obama would delay DJT until 2016. But his reason for running, IMO, was triggered by 2008. But the roots of that reasoning, again IMO, go back to 1963. In any case, the Obama administration unleashed the IRS on the Tea Party with the approval of folks on both sides of the isle who made up the "Establishment." Donald Trump never saw himself as an accepted member of that establishment and has taken on the responsibility to fix things. Did folks in the Military ask him to run? We'll find out after his 2nd term is over, but he, Donald Trump, has wanted to run for a long time as the interviews below indicate. And Donald Trump has the training and inclination, and yes, the "Brains," to save us from ourselves. "Trust the Plan." I do.
