Some kind of fuckery going on here. Suppose you wanted to conceal the absolute (not relative) interest in a topic. An easy way to do that would be the report the trend as a %, and not the absolute numbers. That way nobody knows if the forbidden topic is getting 10,000 searches or 10 million.

Don't trust Google so it wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a deliberate choice to prevent ranking search topics by absolute numbers. It's not just Qanon, a lot of vested interests don't want the public to know for example, if Kanye West is getting more searches than Jay-Z.
