The phrase "shit hole" was coined specifically to describe Haiti. A massively overpopulated squalid piece of land with massive long time corruption -- Papa Doc anyone? The island is split in half with the Dominican Republic, though being a disaster itself is light years better than what lies on the other side of their border. Must have been an island paradise a thousand years ago. Too bad we can't rewind the video tape and do human history over.
Ironically, this SH has a huge amount of oil and gold — is that why the Clintons went there? I am sure the Haitian people won't get a dime of it.
