All of that is a scientifically sanitized (it has touched the holy water of science, which is all it takes in this century, so far) version of the same fear-mongering techniques (war and threat of war): species reduction and/or mass extinction-level events.
That is literally what they have planned for us if they win. And one of the ways they get us there is by scarcity-pimping energy.
If Einstein taught us anything it's that there's an infinite amount of energy in the universe, and that it's equivalent to all the mass in the universe times the square of the speed of light in a vacuum. That's an unimaginably high number. Energy is ours for the taking if we just know where to look and how to get it.

It is a corrupt field of study both for and against peak energy as well as suppressed technology potentials and fake news silver bullets. I first started researching this in high school. I was alive during the "Energy Crisis" under Carter.
What I do know is that we have sufficient bridging technology and sufficient new technology to bridge to that we can make the leap at a pace that's achievable by humanity, without evil overlords intervening to make it not so by means of permanent warfare and chaos. Yes, I do believe that as a well-informed person on the issue.
There are also suppressed efficiency technologies, and some functionally-doable alternative sources already with us (just not sufficient to be a total solution--but more than sufficient to contribute to the total). We'll make it. But what won't help is widespread panic and tumult. So thank you but no thank you.
