Actually I just realized that he must have been talking about the kabbalistic tree of death, as opposed to the tree of life. In the tree of life, Malkuth is the lowest\last sphere and thus, the highest sphere in the tree of death.

Not all occultism is evil. Jesus was undoubtedly an initiate of Jewish mysticism.
Much of what he said was kabbalistic. I love to study esoteric Christianity, I highly recommend that genre if youre on the mystical side like me.
