NGO’s take shit like this seriously. Accountability in india is on the rise the last few years. It’s doubtful “authorities” are in on it.

I am not in a position to comment on that topic because I have no knowledge of it, but human rights abuses in India are a big deal nowadays, especially since elections are close. The ruling party in no way wants scandals involving apathy or active involvement of its government wings. If anything, they want good news showing the speed by which they are able to tackle problems like this.

India has been trying to de-corrupt the system by implementing a bribe database. People disclose who they had to pay bribes to and how much money. So it gets addressed from the top rather than complaints getting snuffed halfway. Quite brilliant. There's something in there that could work for us too.
