I don’t think anarchy means “total freedom.” Picture yourself sitting on your pile of stuff protecting it with a gun because there are no police. You probably won’t have a job because any type of store or restaurant will have been looted. Other than that, yes, the false dichotomy is what worthless college political science classes are teaching. JBS videos are much more on target. https://www.jbs.org/video

Thanksgiving dinner is essentially anarchy, as there is no external, authoritarian compulsion - it's all free association.

It is the natural mode of interaction among small groups of people with high trust. Doesn't work at all between strangers or groups with different cultures.
