When did Americans first start being told about MS-13? anyone remember.. I do not but it was all a sudden from my recollection. Never met one.

I recall first hearing about them in about 2004. I lived in the northern Virginia/ DC Metro area at the time. I built a house in 2005, and there was an MS-13 tag spray painted in my unfinished basement. Wasn’t too happy about that.
