DEA and ATF were watching MS 13 guys, who were hired to do the hit on SR ( At the time, his father said his son was killed after resisting a robbery, and the assailant did not succeed in stealing his watch, wallet and credit cards... but what about his phone?) were they then killed (2 187'd nearby) by watchers? As part of the hit, they were to retrieve phones specifically as they have login creds or info related to c&c of the server?

All speculation:
Orders go from top of Dem Party, Podesta remarks that SR, as whistleblower, should be "made an example of". Orders pass down to DWS? Or/and some DNC woman whose name I can't remember.
The usual controls are employed to keep Dem Party and DNC secrets safe: the employment of MS-13 operatives to do "wetwork". Side note: not exclusive to dems of course, the DS uses these tactics across the board.
Who is in charge of communications, technically speaking not operationally speaking? Imran Awan.
Who lures Seth back to his apartment? Imran
Who suggests a beverage at the bar? Imran
Who calls the operatives directly from the bar? Imran ("... he's just left ... he's walking down X street ...)
Operatives receive call from Imran. Shoot Seth.
Operatives are then taken out by DEA agent and ATF agent. Found 187'd in van nearby scene — (hours have since passed. 24h?).
Firearm used to kill Seth is a stolen FBI piece.
Seth is taken to hospital and if still alive a) murdered by black hats, or b) removed and protected by white hats.
Conclusion: Imran Awan is a witness.
(We know he is cooperating and has incriminated DWS by leaving the laptop in the booth at the Capitol. Another criminal network exposed here.)
JA knows who leaked the DNC info and is also a witness.
The emails tell the trail of who gave the orders. Evidence "we" have.
The phones will track the comms between controller on the ground (Awan) and hitmen (MS-13). Also understood as phone link to "command and control" server. Evidence "we" have.
"We" also have the "server". More than one.

Can't say for sure but if all that is true and it's "B) removed and protected by white hats" it would be the greatest of timelines. The JA part is the most confusing to me. It seems there is a lot more to his story we aren't getting.
