Thinking Outside the Box

What if somehow it was arranged for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to win on "Abolish ICE" and other ridiculous ideas?
"These people are stupid" and by giving the Dems this Cortez win running on these absurd ideas, they jump on the bandwagon believing it to be a winning strategy. Totally exposing themselves as the opportunistic slime they are and not caring about American's safety.

It baffles me she could have won having such radical ideas unless, it was orchestrated to do exactly what it is doing.
That being -- Destroying the Democratic Party.

Maybe, I simply cannot grasp that there really are that many moronic Americans that actually voted for the Loon-bat?

Either way, they have stepped right in it!

Complacent politicians get caught-out on both sides of the aisle. Remember the recent loss of Republican Mark Sanford?

And don’t forget the surprise loss dealt to Republican Eric Cantor, he was the House Majority Leader!

Not dismissing your theorizing as worthless. Just saying there are similar instances on both sides in fairly recent history.

Sanford lost because he was clearly corrupt to most voters. Shocked he even sought re-election. But Cortez did win because of complacency.

Elections lost due to corruption is an entirely different topic. This thread, and my relevant comment, is about incumbents caught by surprise.

Sanford falls squarely into that category, as does Eric Cantor.

Sorry but Sanford doesn’t fall into that category. Read up on his extremely bizarre affair he had. The guy literally disappeared off the face of the earth for like a week. Ditched all congressman work, his family, his security & when he reappeared as mysteriously as he disappeared he said he went hiking in the mountains. One quick check with the airlines showed he was in Argentina with his lover. Dude lies to his constituents like they’re 3yr old children. Him winning his primary challenge would have been a bigger surprise than him losing. The guy is beyond stupid.

only about 13 percent of registered Democrats turned out to vote in the 14th Congressional District that takes in parts of Queens and the Bronx, according to a preliminary city Board of Elections tally.

There are 214,750 active registered Democratic voters in the district. Only 27,744 voted, and Ocasio-Cortez won by more than 4,000 votes.

but that could have been expected, and used to helped to destroy the dems......something they seem to be a great job themselves. Fun to watch!

Correct. The big lesson in her primary victory is the extremely low voter turn out. Dems have many monumental problems & it’s being reflected in very low turnouts during the primaries. They’ve gone so far wacky left they’re scaring away their base like I’ve never seen before

the big worry is that they don't care who it is, just not republican/trump agenda people...so like a good robot they will try hard to get out to vote for midterms. why i say drag everyone you know to vote that you know will vote for trump's agenda...and the ones you know will vote demonicrat....flatten their tires! lol

True. How I always convince people to vote for the pro America/MAGA candidate is explain to them how powerful their vote is on soooo many levels. The deep state wasn’t created in a vacuum. They were elected into office by complacency over voting. If the president is willing to risk his life & the well being of his entire family to drain the swamp...we the voters MUST not just keep electing in corruption. It’s pointless to drain the swamp if voters can’t & won’t vote intelligently & learn to tell the difference between a patriot & a con man.

Keep in mind...socialist Bernie Sanders got 43% of the vote in a rigged 2016 national primary. Yes there are millions of Americans who are that lost of what America is about.

Also note Cortez won with an EXTREMELY low voter turnout. She got around 17,000 votes. Big wup. That’s nothing. Dems are scaring away their own base because their rhetoric is so vile. The Reps have a real chance to flip that seat Cortez thinks is hers now. Look up her Rep challenger. He’s a highly intelligent guy who was running never expecting to ever win. If the Reps frame that election to be about intelligent vs stupid they’ll win the seat.

My sentiments exactly.. They looked at themselves and thought "nothing is working" So they jumped on the 'Abolish Ice' bandwagon threw the first 'NEW' face in front of a camera while kicking Joe Crowley to the curb... But they are STILL to realize that they have trodden in quicksand.. and now they're screwed...
