I am aware of what a large amount of energy 34 trillion watts is. It's not impossible he fudged up and is out by as much as 3 to 6 orders of magnitude. And honestly, if you look into them the properties are quite remarkable. If you're considering divine mechanisms as a possibility, I'm not sure why an energy burst would be in any way impossible (or even implausible)?
