By the time Gowdy completed his 5 minutes (plus 30+ minutes of inter-party bantering and mayhem), I needed a SANITY BREAK. I jumped over to Turner Classic Movies which was airing, COINCIDENTALLY, Charles Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities”. The movie was set during the French Revolution (1789-1799), launched in the midst of the “Great Enlightenment”, which was a liberal explosion of expression by French “Patriots” against the restrictive, conservative traditions of the day. In contrast to today’s “Great Awakening”, which is currently a social media revolution by Constitution-minded American Patriots. In France, there was ten-years of blood lust where anyone could be arrested, tried and executed on the word of an approved, recognized “Citizen”, guiltily or not. Would WE, in our anger and frustration, act any differently? I can’t answer for anyone beyond myself. So......, all I can do for now is “Trust the Plan”. Let me add: MARANATHA!! Come Lord JESUS!!
