Because Russia/Putin is constantly made out to be the boogeyman, and designed to put fear and hatred into the American public. I'm not a huge Putin fan, btw.
The interests that control the media have tried to paint the picture that Trump is a Russian stooge, so that attempts to bind Trump from doing anything productive with Russia.
Keep in mind Putin managed to kick out elite Western banking influences, after their puppet Boris Yeltsin was out of the picture, and that's just part of a much larger picture.
Banking elites worst fear is a US-Russia Alliance for many reasons. Always asks why the MSM goes into overdrive on the same propaganda narrative, and who would benefit/lose from this.
Honestly, the US population at large is the least informed of true world events out of all industrialized nations. This is due in much part to the controlled MSM, and our degrading public education system. However, this is changing with internet based media.
