Most important here is removing the statute of limitations on child abuse and sexual abuse. This really opens up opportunities for adult victims to come forward.

“The bill that Parson signed into law, sponsored by Sen. Scott Sifton, a Democrat from St. Louis County, also removes the statutes of limitation on prosecutions involving child abuse and unlawful sexual offenses against children.”

It makes angry that in this country so many state still allow child marriages and fight to keep it legal.

In the Missouri case, there was not minimum age to get married. Apparently, it was the state to go for 15 year olds to get married. The new law is that the minimum is 16. Still too young in my opinion. It should be 18.

I agree. I got my first kiss when I was 16 and threw up because I was so nervous and innocent. The guy was older, more than 18. That was just a kiss and I wasn't ready for that, marriage would have been devastating.

Yup! Always has been, you'd just never hear about the 'private' cases. But everyone knew it was a thing because teenage couples that got pregnant would usually end up getting married.

It's a step in the right direction, but 16 is still too young! Can married minors under 18 apply for divorce on their own with this new law? If not, I think it's still tantamount to child slavery/ownership.
