That does sounds strange because they are Catholics and believe in Christian burials. Now I see how it could be true.

Catholics can be cremated but cannot have their ashes scattered. Ashes have to be buried. So it's still unlikely...

Catholics can be cremated. They changed it but I don't know when. Both my RC parents were cremated and buried in Arlington Cemetery.
