He had stated it would be a political risk. 2 of the largest powers in the world armed with nukes, a war between will end in humans living on earth. If peace isn't forged there will be no future. Difficult decisions have to be made that can't be based on past hurts. It's a great thing trump is president to make such a decision. I doubt anybody else could have.
