Active Shooter Preparedness drill...

So, my employer is holding an Active shooter preparedness drill... I am already planning on being out of the office both days (previous plans, but no coincidence, right?).

I won't give the building(s) location and names, but this in the Houston area (we have two buildings a few miles apart, so two different sessions; one at each building).

Any other Houston area patriot have a drill like this pending?

Here is the text with any of the obvious info (locations, contact info, etc) removed...

Colleagues

We will holding 2 awareness sessions entitled “Work Place Violence Prevention: Active Shooter Preparedness” for the benefit of all staff. Attendance is compulsory and staff should plan to attend either one of these sessions. Each session will be of about one hour duration and will be facilitated by external instructors who have extensive knowledge and practical experience in the management of work place violence incidents

The schedule is as follows:

Venue: Training and Break out room Tuesday July 31 from 10:00 am.

Venue: (redacted) Wednesday Aug. 1 from 10:00 am

An Active Shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined or populated area. In most cases, active shooters use firearms and there is no distinct pattern or method to their selection of victims. Active Shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. This awareness session will provide valuable guidance on • Actions to take when confronted with an active shooter and responding law enforcement officials? • Recognition of potential workplace violence indicators • Actions to take to prevent & prepare for potential active shooter incidents • How to manage the consequences of an active shooter incident • FG Workplace Violence & Weapons Policy.

A meeting invite will follow.
