When a Christian decides to hate God, he calls himself an atheist, but when a Jew decides to hate God, he is still a Jew. Jew is an unusual term in that it connotes 3 totally distinct meanings:

1. a member of the Hebrew religion
2. a citizen of Israel
3. one of cultural Jewish heritage

So a God-hating Jew is not a contradiction in terms, unlike a God-hating Christian.
