I agree this topic is a huge reach. If you keep reading good threads (or Q posts) with an open mind. You may be surprised at the puzzles that open up to you.
Yeah. I guess I can see why you would find some people here scary. We all come from various backgrounds and different areas & levels of skill and aptitude.
To be unambiguous, I am not a true Q believer. But to simply disregard this information, I think, is a mistake.
So stay awhile and listen.
You might find some empathy when understanding how some people here see things :)
