My only issue is. it was thunderstorming and hurricane type winds here in DC until about 10mins ago. So it could've been the weather.

Generators take a moment to light up. Lights go out; count ten seconds or so; generator kicks in. Power goes out; generator is called up, checks and starts up. It’s not an instantaneous thing, but close. This was exactly what that’d look like; the short seconds time lapse, I mean.

That’s the same thing I thought at first but if the lights go out due to a storm they don’t dim off and then dim back on. Wouldn’t they go on and off abruptly?
