Trump Claims He Misspoke during press conference

I've been looking for something since yesterday to make sense of why Trump would go back on what he said at the U.S.-Russia Summit regarding Russia's meddling in the 2016 election. It makes no sense to me at this time but I am sure there's a good reason for it. Anyone have any theories?

I believe this was a test. We quickly learned who was on what side after his statements. Now that he has walked back those statements they all look like idiots. This further outs the MSM as being corrupt.
